T-Rex 0.8.9 - new nVidia GPU miner.

The new T-Rex Nvidia GPU miner version 0.8.9 comes with performance upgrade as well as support for some new algorithms. The newly added algorithms are astralhash, jeonghash, padihash, pawelhash that are being used used by GlobalToken. Major performance improvements are observed for X22i and the X16 family of algorithms in general (x16r, bcd, x17, x22i etc.) as well as skunkhash. T-Rex is a closed source miner with 1% development fee built-in. This miner is available for Windows, Linux and it even has got CUDA 10 support. There is new config parameter available: --no-nvml - which disables NVML GPU stats that can save some CPU utilization. Useful for low end CPU rigs. Miner window displays also now "Uptime" info. Since 0.8.2 T-REX 0.8.9 has got another useful feature - it is an automatic update and restarts theminer in case of failure. It is enabled by using use Watchdog executable file and You can find the description a little below. T-REX is a miner that supports 25 different mining algorithms in total.

Supported algorithms:

  • astralhash
  • bcd
  • bitcore
  • c11
  • dedal
  • geek
  • hmq1725
  • balloon
  • jeonghash
  • lyra2z
  • padihash
  • pawelhash
  • phi
  • polytimos
  • sha256t
  • skunk
  • sonoa
  • timetravel
  • tribus
  • x16r
  • x16s
  • x22i
  • x17
  • x21s

Example of simple Windows miner failover script:

@echo off
SET EXEC=t-rex.exe
SET SERVER1=stratum+tcp://us.ravenminer.com:5678
SET SERVER2=stratum+tcp://cryptopool.party:3636
SET USER=RRrdpxLH4tdVm2oh2NajhXS7J7ZRdFjQvB
echo %EXEC% -l %LOGFILE% --api-bind-http %API% -a %ALGO% -o %SERVER1% -u %USER% -p d=%DIFFICULTY%,id=%MINERNAME%,c=%COIN% -o %SERVER2% -u %USER% -p d=%DIFFICULTY%,id=%MINERNAME%,c=%COIN% -i %INTENSITY%
%EXEC% -l %LOGFILE% --api-bind-http %API% -a %ALGO% -o %SERVER1% -u %USER% -p d=%DIFFICULTY%,id=%MINERNAME%,c=%COIN% -o %SERVER2% -u %USER% -p d=%DIFFICULTY%,id=%MINERNAME%,c=%COIN% -i %INTENSITY%
goto start

Script in action for 8x 1080Ti rig:

Watchdog autoupdate and failover restart.

Watchdog is a new feature and is intended to observe miner state and restart T-Rex if it crashes or hungs for any reason. Also, watchdog can optionally perform auto updates if a newer version is available. Use watchdog as you use T-Rex. Simply replace t-rex.exe with watchdog.exe in your bat/script file in order to use it. It is recommended to use the watchdog to avoid any downtime in mining and make sure your GPUs are busy 24/7.

To implement it You may just replace the miner executable variable:

SET EXEC=t-rex.exe

with watchdog executable filename like:

SET EXEC=watchdog.exe

You can find watchdog executable in download links below.

Miner runs on both Linux and Windows. Binaries for both Linux and Windows are compiled for CUDA 9.1/9.2/10.0. Make sure you have a latest video driver (411+) installed (with CUDA 10 support for 20xx cards). If you experiencing stability issues with X22i mining you should try to decrease your Clock settings or lower the power limit on Your rig.
